Elle \u00e9tudie les interactions entre les structures g\u00e9ologiques du sous-sol (nature et structures des roches, des sols) et les eaux souterraines ainsi que les eaux de surface. Son domaine d'\u00e9tude repose sur de nombreuses branches comme la g\u00e9ologie, l'hydrologie, la g\u00e9ostatistique, la biologie, l'hydrochimie, la g\u00e9ophysique terrestre, l'hydrodynamique, l'hydraulique souterraine, l'analyse num\u00e9rique, ainsi que les techniques de mod\u00e9lisation. \u00c0 ce titre, l'hydrog\u00e9ologie est par excellence une science interdisciplinaire.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>L'hydrog\u00e9ologie s'occupe de la distribution et de la circulation de l'eau souterraine dans le sol et les roches, en tenant compte de leur interaction avec les conditions g\u00e9ologiques et l'eau de surface.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"h2resize\">Hydrog\u00e9ologie : application et usage<\/h2>\n<p>L'hydrog\u00e9ologie permet donc de conna\u00eetre et de comprendre comment les structures g\u00e9ologiques du sol et du sous-sol affectent les caract\u00e9ristiques physico-chimiques de l\u2019eau, sa distribution, son \u00e9coulement et sa r\u00e9surgence.<\/p>\n<h3>Les m\u00e9thodes de r\u00e9sistivit\u00e9 \u00e9lectrique sont largement utilis\u00e9es pour d\u00e9terminer l'\u00e9paisseur et la r\u00e9sistivit\u00e9 des milieux multicouches<\/h3>\n<p>On utilise ces m\u00e9thodes g\u00e9ophysiques afin d'\u00e9valuer le potentiel des eaux souterraines d'une r\u00e9gion et lors de l'implantation des forages dans les aquif\u00e8res. La m\u00e9thode de potentiel spontan\u00e9 peut \u00eatre utilis\u00e9e afin d'\u00e9tudier les \u00e9coulements d'eau dans le sol.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>La r\u00e9sistivit\u00e9 du sous-sol d\u00e9pend de plusieurs facteurs dont les degr\u00e9s de saturation de min\u00e9raux dans l'eau, de l'eau dans les interstices et la porosit\u00e9 des aquif\u00e8res.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>En cartographiant les variations de r\u00e9sistivit\u00e9 souterraine \u00e0 des profondeurs et localisations vari\u00e9es, les changements de mat\u00e9riaux g\u00e9ologiques peuvent \u00eatre interpr\u00e9t\u00e9s.
